Grid Drawings and Supporting Details

4/22/13: On Friday afternoon each student received a 1 inch x 1 inch square image that they gridded out into 16 squares:

Then students used this gridded image to recreate the image at twice its original size, on to a 2 inch x 2 inch piece of paper:

After that, we used permanent marker over our lines:

Then, we colored in any leftover white space with crayons and colored pencils:

Finally, we put all our squares together to make the city seal and the Made in Oregon sign:

We hung our art pieces up next to one of our Portland maps:

Today, we reviewed main idea and supporting details, after reading My Brother Dan’s Delicious. We also worked on our final persuasive article organizer, where we outlined several main reasons and the details that support each reason:
